  1. Follow the below instructions to install the software i f you use PED-Basic on Windows Vista, never install the programs from the CD in your package. Have you already installed PED-Basic? - If Yes, go to Step 2. If No, go to Step 5. Go to your Control Panel.
  2. Update PED-Basic Drivers Automatically: Recommendation: For most Windows users, we highly recommend using a driver update utility such as DriverDoc Download DriverDoc - Product by Solvusoft to help update Brother Software drivers.
  3. Title Description Release Date (Version) Size; Full Driver & Software Package (PED-Basic Ver1.07).

For Windows® 8/ 8.1 users:

  1. Position the mouse pointer in the Start screen to display the down arrow in the lower-left corner of the screen, and click it.
    ⇒ The list of applications appears.
  2. Right-click PE-DESIGN 10 (Layout & Editing), which appears under the title PE-DESIGN 10 (Trial Version).
    ⇒ The taskbar appears at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click Uninstall in the taskbar to run the application as an administrator.
    ⇒ The Programs and Features window appears.
  4. In the Programs and Features window, select PE-DESIGN 10 (Trial Version) and click Uninstall.
    ⇒ A dialog box appears.
  5. Click Remove to uninstall the application.
    ⇒ The following message appears shortly after uninstallation begins.
  6. Click Yes.
    ⇒ If the software has been successfully uninstalled, a dialog box appears.
  7. Click Finish.

PED Basic® allows you to apply simple editing operations to embroidery data (.pes files) created with our embroidery design software and to write the designs to original cards. PES files can also be purchased or obtained from the internet.
